About This Blog

Over a year ago I started blogging. I found it really enjoyable to share what was happening or what I was up to especially since I live so far from most family and friends. I am an extrovert and get refueled, in a sense, from being with others. Living amongst those who may not speak your language comfortably and have a different culture can make you feel alone at times. I know that blogging doesn’t take the place of people, but it has been nice to connect with others through it.

Seeing what others have done on their blogs has given me inspiration to be creative again. It comes in a timely season of life since I feel like I’m just getting back to the real me after several years of major transitions. I love to decorate, make things and be resourceful but it’s been limited over the past 3 years. I also don’t have the English magazines (unless someone sends them to me!), TV shows, and stores in America that fuel creativity here, so I’m thankful for others who share what they’re doing on blogs!

Creativity doesn’t come naturally for me. I am a see-it and think-it, “Maybe I could do that!” kind of girl. I like the challenge of making something work with what is available (and it can truly be challenging overseas)…most of the time. Sometimes I do miss Hobby Lobby and places like that! I have also had enough failures and procrastinated with projects for years that I need support to follow through with projects. Being able to post what I do and share it with you or at a blog “party” has been great motivation and support to finish!

Having a blog has also been an opportunity to keep my heart in check. I am prone to wonder if what I’m doing is pleasing to God. Having a blog and making choices to be creative have been a chance to believe the truth—that God takes pleasure in our creativity and sharing, and He will help me stay on track and if I get off track.

Since I have gained much through what others have posted on their blogs and the process of creating/writing/posting, I hope this blog can be a source of inspiration or motivation for you as well!
